Full job description
Job Summary
Swagger Foods is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in various maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repairing industrial food manufacturing equipment, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency and minimizing downtime in our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with other personnel to uphold safety standards and enhance productivity. This position can be full-time or part-time within the hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment specifications.
- Execute facilities maintenance tasks, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and operational.
- Perform routine maintenance on industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct repairs on various equipment.
- Utilize tools such as an Ohmmeter to diagnose electrical problems and ensure proper functioning of machinery.
- Collaborate with production and operation staff to identify areas for improvement in machine operation.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the industrial environment.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment as needed both office and plant.
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience, including the use of tools such as an ohmmeter for diagnostics.
- PLC programming- Strong Plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance protocols and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
