Personal Support Person

Job Description:
I’m a 50-year-old man with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair for mobility. I want to enjoy my life while you are enjoying your job. This requires consideration for everyone involved. Looking for assistants to help me continue living a full life. Interviews and hire within the month. I'm looking for a person to cover 32 hours a week (6:30-10:30 pm on T,W,TH; 9am-7pm on Sat & Sun) and a fill-in person. In 4 to 5 months the full-time position 10 hours a day Monday-Friday may be available.

Main task:

- Assists with leisure activities: movies, church, hanging with friends, social gatherings, family time, playing with my dog, Netflix benching, and gym.

- Let's have a drink after we do some light house cleaning, washing clothes, and pay the bills

- Assist with dressing and grooming. I love looking good and I do it well.

- We live in Louisiana so we eat well! Help me do some meal prepping.

- Every now and then we have to do some business like: email, phone calls, drive to appointments, run errands, shop, social media posts, login time, type notes, attend meetings, work & personal projects.

- Good luck keeping up with me. You might want to keep a to-do list and schedule.

- My dog Lil Bit is a mess, help me take care of him, please.

Occasional tasks:

◦ Travel to speaking engagements or vacation! Don’t worry I cover all expenses. We will have fun!

◦ Let's be real I will get sick and things will happen. I will need you to get me back on track.

◦ People have a very narrow-minded view of a person with a disability. Help me educate them by advocating for me only when people are ignoring me, or taking advantage of my situation

Notes:

I have a party van but you don’t want me to drive it. So be my DD.

Everyone is crazy in some way, just be in control of your mental health issues.

Cerebral Palsy can be a BI… I may need more help some days more than others.

You’ll see me nude occasionally, relax I don’t want you.

If you want to get off on time; just be fair and be on time.

I know you’re going to have hangovers, sick days, and times you just don’t want to work. Let's plan for your time off.

We can talk about what’s going on in your life, just don’t overwhelm me with your personal home life.

I respect you as a person, you respect me as your boss and we will get along just fine.

Don’t have too much fun and let my needs and wants come second on the job.

We are going to have some fun and no one needs to know so, let,s maintain privacy, confidentiality, and safety.

Everyone likes what they like, so be LGBTQIA+ Friendly.

Keep in mind we are not doing all of this in a day or week. These are things that may take place in a week. I think it’s very important to review all the details so there won’t be a misunderstanding.
