Classification: Exempt, full-time – grant funded
Reports to: Stable Housing Collaborative Steering Committee
Date: August 20, 2024
Summary
The Project Coordinator is a critical role in the implementation and management of a collaborative utilizing collective impact modeling to achieve significant improvements in stable housing in York County.
The Stable Housing Collaborative is a committed group of community members, organizations, and institutions who advance equity by learning together, aligning, and integrating their actions to achieve population and systems level change.
Friends & Neighbors of Pennsylvania, Inc. operates as the fiscal sponsor and this position is overseen by a steering committee consisting of representatives of the member organizations and individuals with housing insecurity lived experience.
The Coordinator will work with the Stable Housing Collaborative Steering Committee to assist the members of the collaborative to utilize a collective impact framework that implements the five conditions, outlined below, with equity practices incorporated throughout. The five conditions and equity practices are a guide, rather than a checklist or formula, and are customized for York County.

Essential Functions

- Serves as a primary point of contact for the initiative to other York County organizations, agencies, and the public.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with all participants to implement and grow the collaborative.
- Supports the Stable Housing Collaborative Steering Committee in their work to build and sustain an effective collective impact initiative by: identifying, recruiting, and engaging members in the initiative; coordinating research and other activities that catalyze greater alignment among the members to the initiative’s common agenda; communicate consistently with members including individual outreach and education as needed; and facilitate members to make decisions on goals, strategies, and actions.
- Establishes and maintains processes for gathering and analyzing partner feedback.
- Builds and analyzes comprehensive component mappings including leader, stakeholder, relationship, and community asset by geographical area.
- Provides reports showing performance measures, initiative progress, and budgets.
- Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA and the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.
- Participates in planning special projects and events to support the initiative and/or the organization.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience
- Minimum five years of previous experience in a related field such as community development, education, or social services, planning and delivering activities requiring community engagement, facilitation, and the development of relevant content knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the scope, requirements, deliverables, timeline, and resource needs of complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate diverse groups of stakeholders to achieve a common outcome.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong writing/editing skills with experience creating reports and project plans.
- Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
- Read, write, and converse in English.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, and Experience
- Working knowledge of and experience with the Collective Impact framework.
- Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
- Strong working knowledge of budgets, spreadsheets, and grant writing.
- Working knowledge of storytelling and the importance of one-on-one and small group conversations
- Lived experience with housing insecurity is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct personnel supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job may operate in a combination of outdoor and indoor environments. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee may experience exposure to dust, pollens, pollutants, fumes, and communicable diseases (personal protective equipment or PPE will be provided). The noise level is moderate when being exposed to typical outdoor community activities. This role routinely uses a mobile phone.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and bend/reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
Work schedule is flexible and dependent on organizational needs. Weekdays are typical but occasional evenings/nights/weekends are possible.
Travel
Occasional local travel is expected for this position.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain background clearances with successful discharge from probation or parole, and absence of drug/alcohol related arrests or convictions, for at least 5 years.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State background check and FBI criminal background check. Valid driver’s license required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
