**SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS NEEDED IN HERNANDO COUNTY**
Are you looking for a meaningful way to serve your community while staying active? P3 Staffing Solutions, in partnership with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, is hiring School Crossing Guards to help keep local students safe on their way to and from school.
This position is ideal for retirees, veterans, or anyone seeking part-time work with purpose. Crossing guards play an important role in protecting children and supporting safe traffic flow in our community and improving school safety.
Consistent part-time income, simple schedule, and meaningful community impact!
Schedule
- Typically 2 hours per day
- 10–20 hours per week (based on how many posts are covered)
- Opportunity to work multiple posts for additional hours
- Workdays follow the school calendar
What You’ll Do
- Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic at assigned crossings
- Help students safely cross streets before and after school
- Observe and report traffic violations when necessary
- Promote positive community relations between the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, students, parents, and the community.
- Report to your assigned post on time and ready to work
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable interacting with children, school staff, deputies, and the public
- Willingness to learn basic traffic safety procedures and laws
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, lift, and move as needed
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Acceptable vision and hearing (with or without correction)
- Ability to respond quickly when necessary
