Server

Curio Wine Bistro and Bar, located in Downtown Fredericksburg, is opening a new sit-down restaurant and is seeking friendly, energetic, and professional part-time servers who are passionate about wine and how it complements food. Curio will offer a unique experience with detailed food and wine pairings alongside traditional cocktails and beer.

The ideal server will have at least one year of hospitality experience and will be organized, willing to learn about wine and discuss with customers, and deliver dishes in a timely manner. This is a part-time position of approximately 20-25 hours each week (3-4 shifts per week).

Staff members also enjoy a generous staff discount and are paid weekly. There will be tip compensation for this position.

Essential Duties

• Take orders accurately and deliver to tables swiftly.
• Engage with customers while providing friendly, attentive service.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables throughout the shift, as well as refill beverages.
• Upsell appetizers, beverages, and desserts to enhance the dining experience and increase check averages.
• Perform opening/closing tasks such as preparing silverware, stocking stations, and cleaning the dining area.
• Process payments through POS systems, manage tabs, and handle cash accurately.

Job Requirements & Skills

• Must be 21 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States.
• One year of hospitality experience is required.
• Availability to work three to four shifts per week; priority will be on weekend hours
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to learn new things and work both independently and as a team player.
• Some knowledge of wine is a plus; a genuine interest and willingness to learn is required. Training will be provided. Additional compensation given for WSET certifications.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, squat, lift 40 lbs, and go up and down stairs repeatedly. Curio operates across multiple floors, and this position will move between levels throughout each shift.
• Active ServSafe and ABC server certification or equivalents preferred; the ability to earn it within 30 days of hire is required if not already obtained
• Must maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow safety and compliance regulations.
• Have reliable transportation
