Job Description
VigorCare Pediatrics is seeking a full-time speech language pathologist to join our growing team!
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about speech therapy and wants to work with children with special needs. We provide speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social skills training in our clinic.

Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or University
- Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship year, CCC-SLP
- License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Texas
- Experience in pediatrics required
- Home health experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- May provide supervision to Clinical Fellows of Speech Pathology and/or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants if you possess three or more years of experience
Responsibilities:
Supervisor Role:
- Add SLPA to your license via TDLR website.
- Complete 4 hours of direct supervision (in person OR via Zoom) per month
- Complete 4 hours of indirect supervision per month (monitoring activities, goal updates, reviewing Progress Summaries; Evaluation records and correspondence, phone calls/emails, etc.)
- 90-Day and Annual Review (observation and formal write up/report)
- For a new hire, reviewing documentation/daily notes for the first few weeks until notes meet NTTHC expectations.
- Review, correct (as needed), and pass all Progress Summary Notes
- Weekly spot checks on SLPA notes
- Complete goal updates when needed.
- Review and pass any discharge notes the SLPA completes
- Complete Initial Evaluations
- Complete Re-Evaluations for children on SLPA caseload
- If Initial evaluation not completed by supervising SLP, the 1st treatment visit MUST be a supervised visit.
- ASHA requires 2-hour CEUs on Supervision- this is a 1x requirement.
If treating as well as supervising:
- Provide skilled speech therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders
- Define patient’s degree and type of speech, language, voice, oral-motor, swallowing, feeding, auditory processing, and/or fluency impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
- Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
- In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct team in specific speech therapy modalities and interventions
- Plan for and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions
- Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total speech therapy program

Job Requirements:
- BS in Speech Language Pathology or related field required.
- Must have experience working with children with special needs. Experience in speech therapy is a plus!
- Willingness to learn new techniques and be flexible on case assignments.
- Willingness to work as a team member in order to provide excellent patient care and support staff.
- Must be able to work weekends. We close at 5:30 pm on Fridays.
