Position: Store Lead

Reports to: Business Development Manager

Department: The Style Garage

Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Store Lead is responsible for guiding the day-to-day retail operations at The Style Garage. This includes delivering an exceptional customer experience, driving sales performance, and supporting brand growth through strategic community and marketing initiatives. This role blends hands-on retail leadership with creative collaboration, partnering with internal teams and external contacts to enhance visibility, expand market share, and deepen relationships with local beauty professionals and businesses.

Essential Job Functions

Lead the store team to deliver exceptional service to both professional and consumer guests, ensuring a welcoming and knowledgeable environment.

Develop and implement retail strategies to drive revenue, maximize product sell-through, and increase customer retention.

Monitor daily and weekly sales performance, adjusting floor strategy, staff focus, or product placement as needed to meet targets.

Oversee and participate in visual merchandising, inventory management, and product placement to optimize the in-store experience. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures, maintaining operational excellence, and store security.

Partner with the Marketing team to create and implement in-store promotions, campaigns, and activations that increase awareness. Be open to participating in content for The Style Garage's social media to help spotlight promotions, products, or community initiatives.

Represent the store at off-site activations and local events as needed to support broader brand awareness and community-building efforts. Assist in planning and executing in-store events and seasonal experiences to engage the local community. Support the development and management of partnerships with local businesses.

Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and industry insights to serve as a go-to resource for customers and staff.

Attend and contribute to team meetings, product trainings, and business development discussions.

Knowledge & Skills

High school diploma required; 3–5 years of retail, sales, or related customer-facing experience required; 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. Industry experience preferred.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, motivating presence. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with POS systems and inventory management software preferred. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and events, based on the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements

Be able to withstand prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and twisting; have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
