Job Title: Superintendent
Location: Job Sites in and around Slidell, LA
Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6 months, with possibility of extension)
Reports To: Project Manager

MAZE Homes is a premier property development firm specializing in residential and commercial construction projects along the Coast of Mississippi. We are seeking a skilled Superintendent with Buildertrend expertise to join our team and drive project success through effective planning, budgeting, and coordination.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Superintendent to support our construction teams in managing residential home-building projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will assist in overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating and supervising on-site construction activities, including scheduling subcontractors, managing materials, and monitoring progress.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, blueprints, and company standards.
- Support project planning by reviewing plans, estimating timelines, and identifying potential issues or delays.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve on-site challenges and maintain smooth workflow.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, to create a secure work environment for all team members.
- Track project budgets, inventory, and equipment usage, reporting any variances to the Project Manager.
- Assist in quality control by performing walkthroughs, identifying defects, and ensuring timely corrections.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders, with the addition of videos and pictures for each site to visually document progress, issues, and conditions.
- Conduct video walkthroughs with attached pictures on each jobsite while on site, to be submitted as part of daily reporting for comprehensive project tracking.
- Perform site clean-up and maintenance while on site to ensure a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
- Assist in procuring and picking up materials as needed to support the project.
- Provide training and guidance to junior crew members and laborers as needed.
- Handle customer interactions on-site, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience during the build process.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 2-5 years of experience in residential construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant role.
- Strong knowledge of residential building processes, including framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and finishing work.
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate construction sites safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with green building practices or LEED certification.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish) to communicate with diverse teams.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and under budget.
- Certification in OSHA safety training, CPR/First Aid, or relevant trade skills is a plus.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
