Your Job
Trinity Sales and Rental is seeking a hands-on, safety-focused Shop Technician Level II to join our service department. This intermediate-level position performs independent diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and service standards. This role is ideal for a technician with proven mechanical ability who can work with minimal supervision and is eager to continue developing advanced skills in a fast-paced equipment rental environment.
What You Will Do
- Independently perform routine and complex maintenance on all rental fleet equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with minimal supervision
- Conduct check-ins and ANSI inspections on all equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Inspect and maintain components such as brakes, steering systems, and engines
- Replace and repair worn or faulty parts such as hoses, pumps, and wiring.
- Accurately document time, parts, and work performed using work orders and shop software
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues
- Safely demonstrate the proper operation of all equipment to customers or staff when needed
- Successfully chain and bind equipment to trailers for transport
- Support shop organization and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
- Complete Genie Level 2 Training within 90 days of hire.
- On-call rotation required
- Required to work in the field on call outs, 90’s and ANSI’s
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Work weekends as needed
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Passion for equipment, mechanical aptitude, and eagerness to learn
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics and electrical systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software
- Ability to work independently while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized in documenting work
- Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical, automotive, or equipment-related work preferred
- Mandatory completion of equipment training (e.g., Genie Factory Training)
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and seldom lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions
- Requires bending, climbing on and into heavy equipment, and working on your feet for extended periods
- Use of hands for grasping, handling, and tool operation required daily
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working with aerial lifts, telehandlers, or heavy construction equipment
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to mentor or support entry-level technicians
Tools Required
- Full mechanic’s toolbox with sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and specialty tools necessary for intermediate-level repairs.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.50 per hour
