Full job description
Location: In-Person (New York)
Type: Part-time to start (~15-20 hours/week), with a clear path to full-time
Reports to: Dania, Creative Manager
Company: Nominal
Compensation: $20 to $32 per hour, depending on experience
About Nominal
Nominal is a Palestinian-owned jewelry brand primarily serving Muslim and MENA women. Every piece we make is made to carry meaning: names, countries, poems and holy verses that enable our community to be proud of who they are.
Since we launched in 2018, we've served over 500,000 customers across the globe and have built one of the most engaged communities in cultural jewelry. We're now scaling the brand into a much bigger future by hosting community events and opening a retail presence in New York and other states.
Our social media content is undeniable across Instagram, but since TikTok is its own platform with its own intent and audience, this is the next intentional step for the brand.
The Role
This is Nominal's first dedicated TikTok hire. You'll own the channel end-to-end: ideation, production, editing, posting, and learning what works. From day one, you’re building the strategy with us and handling the execution.
You'll report to Dania, our Creative Manager, who runs day-to-day content production. You'll also collaborate regularly with Ahmad, our CMO and creative lead, on brand direction and strategic priorities.
In your first week you'll get a starter pack to loop you into the Nominal world: our brand voice, customer surveys, top reviews, the full picture of what Instagram has done for us and where TikTok needs to be different. By 90 days, the goal is that we’ve established a clear TikTok identity that's distinct from our IG, with a content cadence that scales.
What You'll Do
- Conceptualize, film, edit, and publish daily TikTok videos
- Stay deep inside TikTok culture: trends, sounds, formats, pacing, what's working for brands like ours and what's not
- Attend Nominal events, shoots, and activations in New York to capture content live
- Test creative directions weekly: hooks, formats, on-camera vs voiceover, founder content, customer features
- Visit our New Jersey fulfillment center and our retail stores in the region to create behind-the-scenes content, promotional content, etc.
- Track what's working, kill what isn't, and bring the team into the experimentation loop
- Collaborate with each department to understand what elements across the brand deserve to be showcased intentionally on TikTok: events, activations, new product launches, BTS needs, promotional periods, etc.
Who You Are
- Live in New York City or close enough to be on-site weekly for shoots and events
- Deeply familiar with TikTok culture, not as a viewer but as a maker
- Strong instinct for what feels native to TikTok and what reads as repurposed Instagram
- Skilled at filming and editing short-form video (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Personally connected to Muslim, Arab, South Asian, or MENA culture, or has worked closely with brands serving those audiences
- Comfortable working independently and executing fast
- Sociable and charming. Comfortable and confident in front of the camera and directing on-camera interactions.
Nice to have
- A track record growing or managing a TikTok account (yours or a brand's)
- Public examples we can point to
- Confidence and comfort with TikTok analytics and an innate habit of optimizing against them
Why Join Nominal
- First dedicated TikTok hire. This allows you the opportunity to build a strategy from the ground-up as opposed to inheriting someone else’s vision.
- A brand with cultural depth that never fakes it. Our customers describe their pieces as daily reminders of faith, family, and home. Jewelry is simply one of our mediums, but your role here goes beyond that by telling stories that make women across the world feel seen and represented.
- A real audience that's underserved on TikTok. Muslim and MENA women are one of the fastest-growing consumer segments and most brands haven't figured out how to reach them. You'll get first-mover experience on the platform to serve this audience.
- Production support. Equipment provided. Budget for shoots. Access to product, models, and a team already executing at scale.
- Retail expansion in NY. We're opening in New York in 2026 and planning recurring events in that region, and the TikTok channel will be central to it.
- Real proximity to leadership. You'll work daily with Dania (Creative Manager) on production and stay close to Ahmad (CMO) on brand strategy. Your work has visibility and collaboration from day one.
Equipment
Nominal provides shooting and editing equipment including but not limited to an iPhone, supportive lighting, wireless microphones, tripod, and editing software. You'll be set up with what we find enabling for you to execute your best work.
Process: Selected candidates will be invited to a paid creative assessment involving content ideation and/or event-based content creation, followed by interviews with Dania, Ahmad, and the broader Nominal team.
Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour

- Employee discount
