Loudoun Test Prep is seeking dynamic, motivated, and innovative individuals to join our team in providing academic support and mentorship to students living in Loudoun County and the surrounding area. We are looking for candidates of varying availability, but preference will be given to those interested in pursuing a long-term relationship with our company.
Job Description: As an SAT/ACT Math Tutor for Loudoun Test Prep, you’ll be responsible for helping students build their skill set as they approach the math sections of these standardized tests. We are a company that specializes in small-group and academic tutoring over several testing seasons. You'll be helping students find the best way to gain measured improvements over eight weeks.
Hours: Classes are taught in 8-week sessions. Individual tutoring is scheduled around class schedules. Consistent availability during any 8 week session is vital to success for instructors and students.
eg: If you say you’re only available on Saturdays and Sundays, you would be assigned classes or individual tutoring on those days.
Monday-Thursday: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday/Sunday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
*Some individual tutoring may occur before and/or after these times.
Compensation: $30-40/hr starting wage, varies according to experience and qualifications. All candidates participate in a paid 4-8 week long training/shadowing program.
Hours per week: Between 10-35 hours per week, depending on candidate availability.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan sessions with students based on scores and targeted weak areas in mathematics
- Assign homework expressly for the purpose of helping students improve: no busy work!
- Ensure that all approaches and interactions with student encourage psychological well-being
- Reliable transportation is an absolute must.
Qualifications
- Pursuit or completion of a BA/BS in Mathematics, Psychology or Educational Studies highly encouraged to apply
- Experience taking standardized tests is highly desirable
- Practice SAT assessment required after initial interview
Knowledge, Skill Sets and Qualities:

- Utilizing a variety of teaching methods to reach students of different skill level
- Reliable, approachable, and punctual
- Ability to problem solve and think critically in different situations
Experience:
- Tutoring: 2 years (Preferred but not required)
