Full job description
We are a new, privately owned veterinary practice opening at the end of January in North Tallahassee. We see dogs, cats, exotics, wildlife, and farm animals and are committed to science-based medicine, preventive care, and building long-term relationships with families. As a new hospital, our front desk team will help define the client experience from day one.
This is a great role if you love animals of all kinds and enjoy being at the center of communication in a busy, multi-species practice.
Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative to be one of the first faces of our practice. You’ll start in mid-January to help with setup, training, and scheduling before our official opening. You’ll be welcoming clients with dogs, cats, exotics, wildlife, and farm animals, and helping coordinate their care.
Key Responsibilities
Warmly greet clients and patients in person and over the phone
Answer multi-line phones, respond to emails, and manage online requests
Schedule appointments, surgeries, drop-offs, and follow-ups for a variety of species
Check clients in and out, review invoices, and process payments
Accurately enter and update client and patient records in the software
Communicate clearly with clients about estimates, reminders, and basic instructions
Coordinate with doctors and technicians to prioritize and triage appointments
Keep the lobby and reception area clean, welcoming, and organized
Help develop and refine front-desk procedures as the hospital opens
Minimum Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a medical office setting (required)
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Comfortable using multi-line phone systems and computer-based scheduling
Experience with veterinary practice software (preferred)
Comfortable interacting with clients who have exotics, wildlife, and farm animals, as well as dogs and cats
Organized, able to multitask, and comfortable in a new, growing practice
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
