Mental Health Therapist / Associate Clinical Social Worker

Licensed therapists and registered ASWs are encouraged to apply. Clinical supervision and hours sign-off may be available for eligible ASW candidates.

We are an established Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) providing individualized therapeutic support to youth with complex behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. Our program serves youth in a home-like residential setting with embedded mental health services, educational supports, treatment planning, crisis response, and coordinated care.

Our facility maintains a small, specialized caseload of no more than six residents at any given time, allowing our clinical team to provide highly individualized, relationship-based support. We are a collaborative, close-knit team committed to consistency, compassion, trauma-informed care, and clinically guided interventions that support each youth’s daily functioning, emotional stability, and long-term permanency goals.

Position Summary

The therapist will provide direct mental health services, participate in treatment planning, coordinate care with stakeholders, and respond to crisis situations as needed. Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to youth on-site, and support group sessions as appropriate.

  • Actively participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and contribute to interagency collaboration and service coordination.
  • Support and respond tocrisis situations, including de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and Medi-Cal-compliant documentation of clinical services.
  • Monitor treatment progress, provide clinical insight into discharge readiness, and support continuity of care planning.
  • Help foster a culture of accountability, respect, and professionalism within the residential team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Current California registration or licensure (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC).
  • Preferred minimum one year of experience working with youth in a high-acuity behavioral setting or residential/foster care setting
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and behavioral intervention practices strongly preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of STRTP operations, Medi-Cal billing requirements, and CFT processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical judgment, crisis response skills, and the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

What We Offer

  • A small, focused caseload (maximum of six youth).
  • A supportive, friendly team environment that values collaboration and mutual respect.
  • The opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing program and shape clinical care practices from the ground up.
  • A mission-driven workplace focused on youth safety, stability, and long-term success.
