Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Arborist Apprentice and embark on a rewarding journey in tree care and landscape maintenance! This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience working alongside seasoned arborists, gaining valuable skills in tree trimming, pruning, rigging, and equipment operation. Duties
- Assist with tree care tasks including pruning, trimming, and planting to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
- Learn to operate bucket trucks, lifts, and other equipment safely for elevated work on trees and landscapes
- Support rigging operations for safe removal or pruning of large or hazardous trees
- Participate in landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, planting, mulching, and general site cleanup
- Follow safety protocols during all operations to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and team members
- Gain growing experience in horticulture by observing plant health management and soil care practices
Requirements
- Enthusiasm for outdoor work and a keen interest in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture
- Basic knowledge of landscaping or lawn care is a plus; previous experience is not required but welcomed
- Willingness to learn rigging techniques, equipment operation (including bucket trucks), and safety procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Valid driver’s license preferred; some roles may require the ability to obtain certifications related to bucket operation
- Able to pass hair follicial test as well as random drug screenings
