About Seed

Adult-use cannabis is now legal in a handful of U.S. states.  Massachusetts is leading the charge on the east coast, and Seed is pleased to be one of the first locally permitted establishments in the City of Boston.

In early 2021, Seed opened ahigh end retail cannabis establishment and social justice cannabis museum in Jamaica Plain. Seed offers guests a wide range of products and is an avid supporter of the communities in which it operates. Seed aims to create conversation and awareness around the history, science and culture of cannabis.

Seed is currently seeking outgoing, customer-focused Purveyors to provide our customers with a unique retail experience. The primary purpose of a purveyor is to educate customers on the variety of products available at Seed. The purveyor is above all a Purveyor of Product Education (POPE). While purveyors are primarily focused on this aspect of their job, they are also expected to engage in any operational activities as directed by their superior including ,but not limited to acting as brand ambassadors in and out of the shop, committing to a strong and supportive corporate culture, fulfilling orders, completing transactions, keeping the facility neat and tidy, maintaining a neat and tidy appearance, participating in store marketing initiative, reaching out to the community to establish relationships and generate goodwill and providing excellent customer service.

• Experience in the marijuana industry is NOT required but is preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Greet/check-in all customers
• Educate customers
• Demonstrate reliable and detailed product knowledge
• Use POS/cash handling systems
• Fulfill customer orders
• Participate in general housekeeping duties for the store
• Uphold company policies and procedures and local/state regulations
• This position reports to the General Manager

Qualifications:

• 2 years of customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment
• Cannabis experience preferred
• Local applicants preferred
• Minimum of a high school degree required; college degree preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to communicate with a diverse group of customers and staff members
• Excellent organizational skills
• Reliable, Professional, and Trustworthy
• Positive attitude
• Must be over 21
• Must have flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, be able to stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach

Compensation:

• $17/hour to start
• After 90 days, $18/hour

This position is classified as non-exempt, and therefore, you will be eligible to receive overtime pay based on federal and state requirements. While there is no promise of overtime, it may be required either on a regular or periodic basis due to business necessity.
