Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate translation and interpretation services in Spanish, French, and Creole for various settings including community programs, healthcare, legal, and social services.
• Assist clients by providing clear communication support between monolingual or limited-English speakers and service providers.
• Facilitate effective communication using American Sign Language when applicable, ensuring accessibility for all individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information across all interactions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop culturally appropriate communication strategies tailored to diverse audiences.
• Document interpretation sessions accurately and complete relevant reports or logs as required.
• Stay updated on linguistic developments and cultural nuances to enhance service quality.

Requirements

• Multilingual proficiency in Spanish, French, and Creole with excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in each language.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret complex information clearly and effectively.
• Experience or training in translation and interpretation across various sectors such as healthcare, legal, or social services.
• Knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued.
• Background in linguistics or related fields enhances your ability to deliver precise language support.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in fast-paced environments.
• Prior experience in interpretation or translation roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates. Pay: $24.93 - $30.02 per hour
