Survey Technician - Field Surveyor and CAD Tech

Ward Engineering Group is looking to add motivated Survey Technicians to our team. We are currently hiring for individuals with experience in either field surveying, survey CAD drafting, or both.

Position Opportunities

Field Surveyor Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment
• Perform topographic, boundary, construction staking, and layout surveys
• Collect and maintain accurate field notes and documentation
• Coordinate with office staff to ensure accurate project deliverables
• Work safely and efficiently in varying weather and terrain conditions

Survey CAD Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare survey drawings, plats, maps, and construction exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software
• Process field survey data and assist with drafting deliverables
• Maintain organized project files and drafting standards
• Review survey data and drawings for quality and accuracy
• Coordinate with field crews, surveyors, and engineers on project requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in field surveying, CAD drafting, or both preferred
• Familiarity with Trimble or similar survey equipment is a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software preferred
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license required for field positions
