AV & Golf Simulator Design Specialist (EXP REQ 2 yrs Chief Architect)

Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Designer to join the Design2Golf team. This role is central to how we deliver projects — from the first creative conversation with a client through to the final set of contractor-ready technical drawings. You will work closely with both our Sales team and Project Management to ensure every space we design is beautiful, buildable, and precisely engineered.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Chief Architect and a strong eye for spatial design, combined with the technical understanding to produce accurate, construction-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Concept Design (Sales Phase)

• Collaborate directly with the Sales team to develop initial concept plans for new golf simulator projects
• Translate client goals, aesthetic preferences, and spatial constraints into compelling design concepts
• Produce early-stage layouts and renderings to support the sales process and client presentations
• Contribute to the overall look, feel, and design direction of each proposed space

Technical & Construction Documentation (Project Phase)

• Develop fully detailed contractor plans in Chief Architect, including:
• Wiring run locations and pathways
• Blocking locations for mounts and equipment
• Proper display heights, TV/screen dimensions, and placement coordinates
• Turf placement, boundaries, and material callouts
• Projector positioning, throw distances, and mounting details
• Equipment rack locations and access clearances
• Screen specifications and mounting configurations
• Sound system layout including speaker positions and cable routes
• Ensure all designs are drawn to scale and meet project specifications prior to handoff to the project manager
• Coordinate design revisions based on field feedback and project manager input

Collaboration & Communication

• Work in close collaboration with the Project Management team throughout later design phases
• Participate in design reviews and respond to contractor RFIs as needed
• Maintain organized and version-controlled design files for all active projects
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

Required

• Proficiency in Chief Architect software (3+ years of experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of spatial design and construction documentation
• Ability to produce both concept-level and contractor-ready drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all plan deliverables
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across Sales and Project Management teams
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

• Background in AV/technology integration, home theater, or experiential space design
• Experience with golf simulators, sports entertainment, or hospitality environments
• Familiarity with electrical rough-in, low-voltage systems, or construction documents
• Experience working within a structured project management environment

Work Environment & Schedule

• Primary office location: Warwick, NY
• On-site presence required 3–4 days per week
• Flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week
• Occasional project site visits may be required
• You will be onboarded and mentored by an experienced senior designer
