Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician - full time or part time

Fusting Electric is a (very) small family business based in Severn, MD. We're currently just a team of two - husband & wife duo, Steve & Ceanne Fusting. We're looking to hire our first electrician.

Our Story:

As soon as Steve started his electrical journey in 2019, he knew he wanted to start his own business. He enrolled in HCC's Electrical Apprenticeship program, graduated & got his Journeyman's License, passed his Master's exam & got his Master's License. The week he got his Master's license, we started our business. Steve handles all the work in the field while Ceanne Fusting handles marketing, scheduling, & administrative work. Our workload has increased beyond the capabilities of just one electrician & we're looking to make our first hire.

Location:

We're based in Severn & have clients anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes from us - in Anne Arundel County, Howard County, PG County, Baltimore City & Baltimore County.

Job Description:

Currently nearly all of our clients are residential, but we're hoping to get into more commercial work.

We can hire someone anywhere from 2-5 days a week (weekdays only).

We're looking to hire one candidate at this time - either an apprentice or a journeyman. A journeyman would work alongside Master Electrician during initial probationary period - then work independently. Apprentice will work alongside Master Electrician & when we eventually hire a second person (journeyman), they would work alongside them.

Note: This listing is for either an apprentice electrician or journeyman electrician, but Indeed makes us put one pay range. Hourly rate to be based on candidate's experience.

Often those goal-oriented people plan to get their Masters & start their own business like we did. While hiring & training someone who plans to start their own business & become your competition one day isn't always the best business decision, we believe those goal-oriented people make the best employees, and we'd be happy to mentor a hard-working go-getter even if it means they leave us in a couple years when they get their Masters to do their own thing.

Alternatively, someone who wants to work their way up in the electrical industry, but doesn't want to take on the responsibilities of running their own business, can continue working for us & as our business continues to grow, there will be more growth opportunities available.
