Baker/ Food Prep

You favorite local coffee shop/bakery is hiring a baker to join our team. Java Moon and Java Moon Station bakers are responsible for following recipes to create various types of cookies, bars and pastries. The position will also include preparing other foods for our diverse menu including salad dressings, eggs, burrito and other fun and tasty recipes. To be successful in this role you should have professional food preparation experience and be able to use proper techniques to create great tasting and beautiful products. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis. Must be able to work early mornings and Saturdays. This position is full time hours a week depending on season.

• Open the bakery at 6am
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
• Bake different bread types, like crescent rolls, caramel rolls and possibly breads.
• Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including cookies and sweet rolls.
• Decorate sugar cookies.
• Prepare other food items such as soup, eggs, salad dressings and breakfast meats.

Skills

• Experience in food preparation
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and meat slicers.
• Understanding of food safety practices.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability work alone.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
