Part-Time Lemon Law Attorney
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lemon Law Attorney to join our legal team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for an attorney with experience handling consumer protection and lemon law matters who is looking for flexible, impactful work within a growing legal-tech environment. The attorney will manage lemon law claims, negotiate with manufacturers, support litigation strategy, and help deliver exceptional client experiences.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong legal research, negotiation, and drafting skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Handle consumer warranty and lemon law matters from intake through resolution.
- Review vehicle purchase agreements, repair histories, warranty documentation, and related records.
- Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Negotiate directly with manufacturers, opposing counsel, and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Manage litigation support, discovery, and case strategy where necessary.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding case status and expectations.
- Maintain organized and accurate case files and legal documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows and legal operations.
- Stay current on lemon law statutes, consumer protection regulations, and relevant case law.
Qualifications
- Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one New York and other U.S. jurisdiction.
- Prior experience handling lemon law, consumer protection, or civil litigation matters preferred.
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation and client communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced law firm or legal-tech environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with settlement negotiations and litigation procedures preferred.
