Full job description
NextStep Raleigh, a paralysis recovery center in Raleigh, NC, is looking for a PT Activity-Based Trainer. A degree in exercise physiology or sports medicine is preferred. NextStep serves people living with paralysis due to stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis and more. Experience with this population would be highly valued, although not expected or required. Extensive training will be provided. Excellent written and oral communication skills a must.
As an Activity-Based Trainer: provide activity-based training with clients, learning how to effectively transfer and exercise this client base. Keep detailed records of progress and changes in movement and strength. Learn all applicable training techniques and remain up to date with new training techniques. Get NRN (NeuroRecovery Network) certification within 12 months of joining the company and CPR certification within 30 days. Prepare the client for training, as determined by client goals and membership Provide activities and locomotor training, if applicable Help develop and implement activity-based progression plans for clients. Perform patient video and editing functions Other duties as assigned
