Job Overview

SEMA Construction, Inc., has immediate openings for an experienced Auto Cad/Trimble Business Center Survey CAD Technician with a background in heavy civil construction. The position will be responsible for assisting with projects located in the Central Florida area. The surveyor must have some experience in construction survey techniques including Heavy Highway, Drainage/ Ponds, with Bridge/Structures experience a plus. The ideal candidate must be responsible, have civil construction experience, is hard-working and eager to learn.

Compensation varies depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to work outdoors in a hands-on construction environment
  • Conduct physical site survey using a variety of company provided tools and equipment including stakes, measuring devices, hand tools, ladders, personal protective equipment
  • Assist Survey Manager with verifying the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Assist Survey Manager to verifying office calculations to field
  • Ability to read and identify plans quickly and accurately
  • Quick to respond to construction issues and able to solve problems with viable solutions in concert with the entire construction team
  • Must work well with other project team members in the field and office
  • Maintaining accurate field notes and survey records
  • Experienced, self-motivated, and able to work independently is a must
  • Willing to travel at times to other projects
  • The ability to lead and supervise field crews
  • Scheduling crews and assigning tasks
  • Proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, Machine Control, Digital Levels)
  • Drone Pilot License will be a BIG Plus
  • Maintaining Safety standards
  • Maintaining accurate field notes and survey records
  • Managing Equipment
  • Strong decision-making abilities to address issues in the field
  • Effective communication skills to interact with our team members and sub-contactors

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
