Full job description
"You build the experience. You develop the coaches. You make every class worth talking about."
About ARQ Method
We're here to redefine what fitness looks like on campus — creating dynamic, elevated spaces where movement, recovery, and community come together. Our mission goes beyond working out. It's about building a culture of wellness that supports every goal, every body, and every stage of the journey.
From strength training to group classes, from recovery to connection, we provide an environment that motivates you to stay healthy — surrounded by others doing the same. Thoughtfully designed and grounded in calm, our space is built to help every workout feel more focused and intentional.
The GM of Programming owns everything that happens inside the studio: the class formats, the coach culture, the member experience on the floor, and the quality of every single session. This is a leadership role for someone who lives and breathes group fitness and wants to build something from the ground up.
The Role
– Own the full ARQ class programming across all formats: Strength, HIIT, Yoga/Pilates, and Recovery
– Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a team of ARQ coaches; conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions
– Build and maintain ARQ's coaching standards, cueing language, music direction, and class structure playbook
– Oversee the recovery program — cold plunge and sauna — ensuring safety, quality, and a premium member experience
– Design the weekly and seasonal class schedule in partnership with the GM of Operations, optimizing for member demand and coach capacity
– Lead coach training and onboarding; ensure every ARQ coach represents the brand with excellence and consistency
– Monitor member feedback and class performance data; continuously refine programming to improve retention and satisfaction
– Serve as a class coach yourself — this is a leading-from-the-front role
– Partner with leadership on ambassador programming, NIL athlete engagement, and community events
What We're Looking For
– 1+ years of experience in group fitness instruction, coaching, or fitness programming; boutique studio background strongly preferred
– Demonstrated experience building or managing a coaching team
– Certifications required: NASM, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent; yoga, Pilates, or recovery certifications are a strong plus
– Deep knowledge of strength training, HIIT methodology, mobility, and/or mind-body modalities
– Experience with or genuine curiosity about recovery modalities — cold immersion, heat therapy, contrast protocols
– A natural teacher and communicator who can bring out the best in coaches and members alike
– Availability to coach classes including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Why ARQ
– Build a programming culture from scratch — genuine creative ownership over something new
– Work at the intersection of fitness, recovery, and campus community in a concept with no direct competitor
– Competitive salary, complimentary ARQ membership, and performance incentives
– Clear path to senior leadership as ARQ expands across college campuses
