Plastics Processing Machine Operator

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The focus of the Plastics Processing Plant Worker is to be trained as a general plant worker and plastics processing equipment operator. The Processing Plant Worker serves as an important role keeping all equipment operational in a safe efficient manner. The objective of the position is to provide a safe, cost effective working environment, while operating under Prometheus Polymers’ guidelines and procedures.

Hiring Needs

We are currently hiring for 1st shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Processing plastic material. This includes categorizing, sorting, and preparing plastic products for use in the production process

· Operating grinding equipment

· Operating a 6” extrusion compounding line

· Operating Polyethylene pulverizes

· Loading and unloading trucks

· Conducting light equipment maintenance and general plant labor

· All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

· High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required

· Mechanical aptitude

· Acute attention to details

· Must be able to work with little to no supervision

· Knowledge and understanding of polymers are a plus but not required

· Willingness to adapt in an evolving environment

· Innate sense of urgency that provides proactive and consistent work

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job operates in a manufacturing setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear while performing other projects. This is largely a physical role; involving working with heavy equipment.
