Full job description

Location: Remote (Preference for EST or CST)

We are looking for a Senior Developer with strong Banking and Payments domain experience and deep technical expertise in COBOL, UNIX/AIX, and scripting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting payment platforms, wire transfer systems, and financial messaging integrations in enterprise banking environments.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with COBOL
  • UNIX / AIX administration and development
  • Shell scripting or other scripting languages
  • Banking and Payments industry experience is mandatory

Preferred Payments Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • ACI MTS / ACI UPF
  • FedNow / Fedwire
  • Fiserv EPP
  • ISO 20022
  • RTP
  • SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA)
  • SWIFT MT / MX messaging
  • SWIFT yearly standards upgrades
  • Wire Transfers

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain payment processing applications
  • Support payment integrations and wire transfer systems
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide long-term fixes
  • Participate in payment modernization and system upgrades
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders in a high-volume banking environment

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software development within Banking or Financial Services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
