Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to lead and inspire faith formation within our community. This vital role involves overseeing religious education programs, fostering spiritual growth, and supporting the faith development of children, youth, and adults. The Coordinator will serve as a spiritual leader, ensuring that religious instruction aligns with Catholic teachings and values while creating a welcoming environment for all participants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by nurturing faith, guiding catechists, and coordinating engaging events that deepen spiritual understanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive religious education programs for various age groups, ensuring alignment with Catholic doctrine and church teachings.
- Recruit, train, and support catechists, volunteers, and mentors to deliver engaging faith-based instruction.
- Organize and coordinate faith formation events, retreats, workshops, and community outreach activities that foster spiritual growth and community engagement.
- Provide Christian counseling and mentoring to individuals seeking spiritual guidance or support during challenging life moments.
- Collaborate with parish leadership to plan fundraising initiatives that support religious education programs and community outreach efforts.
- Facilitate communication with families, staff, and community partners to promote program participation and ensure clear dissemination of information.
- Support families in bereavement support efforts and hospice care initiatives by offering compassionate guidance rooted in Catholic values.
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching or leading religious education or faith formation programs within a Catholic setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate volunteers, staff, and community members.
- Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with children, youth, parents, clergy, and community stakeholders.
- Experience in event planning, program development, or coordinating community outreach activities.
- Background in social work or related fields is preferred to provide holistic support to individuals facing personal challenges.
- Knowledge of Christian counseling techniques and experience mentoring individuals through faith-based guidance is highly desirable.
