We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Bindery Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the final, critical stages of our commercial print process—transforming printed sheets into finished, high-quality products. You will set up, safely operate, and maintain advanced finishing equipment (cutters, folders, stitchers, and binders) while meeting strict production deadlines

  • Read work orders to determine instructions and specifications for machine set-up.
  • Install or adjust bindery machine devices, such as knives, guides, rollers, rounding forms, creasing rams, or clamps.
  • Perform quality checks and monitor productivity numbers during the production run and adjust machine settings as required to complete production tasks within acceptable quality and productivity standards (according to specifications).
  • Lubricate, clean, or make minor repairs to machine parts to keep machines in working condition.
  • Punch holes in and fasten paper sheets, signatures, or other material, using hand or machine punches and staplers.
  • Pursue cross-training and skill development on multiple machines and operate machines as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Mechanical Aptitude and basic math skills
  • Experience is preferred, but not mandatory. We will train the right person.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Capable of being on feet most of the day
  • Committed to learning and development.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Strong work ethic, dependable job performance, and reliable attendance.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and listening) to effectively resolve inter-departmental issues, meet production due date requirements, and perform work consistent with customer expectations.
  • Attention to detail and able to collect and report variable data during production operation.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Able to operate and manage with flexibility in a dynamic, fast paced and team-oriented work environment.
  • Can distinguish color and patterns
  • Works well with hands
  • Works well with others as well as alone
