Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team three days per week as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a welcoming, professional environment! In this role, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your energetic approach will help foster positive patient experiences, promote oral health awareness, and support our commitment to comprehensive general dentistry services.

Duties

  • Perform dental prophylaxis procedures including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and updating medical records accurately within EMR systems.
  • Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to pediatric dentistry needs when applicable.
  • Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and recordkeeping for insurance or legal purposes.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
  • Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental (or willing to learn)
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures, anatomy, and aseptic technique essential for safe practice.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is a plus.
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing general dentistry with attention to detail.
