Job Summary
Kin Fitness is a locally owned fitness studio in Newburyport, MA offering award-winning personal training, adult classes, open gym, and family-friendly programs for all ages. Our certified trainers provide supportive, expert-led workouts focused on functional strength, mobility, balance, and real-life movement in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment. We believe in fitness for every age and community for every body.
We are currently looking for a personal trainer to provide 1:1 personal training, small group training, and athletic training. If you have a passion for fitness, enjoy working with people, and have the skills to create effective workout plans, we would love to have you join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fitness assessments and consultations
- Develop safe and effective personalized exercise programs based on clients' needs and goals
- Instruct and demonstrate proper exercise techniques to clients
- Lead one-on-one and small group training sessions with professionalism
- Educate clients so that they are motivated and supported through their training
- Monitor progress and adjust programs to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean and organized workout environment to maintain a safe space
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and positive attitude to help foster a welcoming and encouraging environment
- Provide outstanding customer service, creating memorable experiences for clients to promote long lasting relationships
- May lead sessions beyond personal training, including group classes and special programs.
- Promote personal training and gym services to increase client engagement
- Stay updated on the latest fitness trends, physiology knowledge, and coaching methods
Skills/Qualifications:
- National Certification (required)
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- One year of personal training and program design experience; experience coaching, or leading group fitness classes welcomed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals
- Ability to adapt exercises for clients with different fitness levels or limitations
- High energy personality with a positive attitude
- Willingness & desire to learn and develop as a trainer as well as actively be a part of a growing small business
- Specialty fitness certifications is a plus
- Experience & enjoyment in working with clients of all ages a plus
- Background in physical education, coaching, and/or dance, cheer, sports, martial arts or gymnastics is a plus
- Represent yourself and the organization professionally, through your appearance, language, and behavior
- Open to flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
- Willing to go through background check/CORI process
