Swiss Lathe/ Screw Machinist

Using the latest computer-controlled state-of-the-art equipment, CrossWind Machining is a Swiss Screw Machine Shop that specializes in providing high quality, machined metal & plastic components to device manufacturers & assembly companies. Today, multiple industries need CNC Swiss Screw Machining technology to meet the precision demands of a wide variety of contemporary technological needs including medical devices, aerospace, microwave and electronics. With 6-7 axis high-speed machining capability, our machines can hold tolerances of +/- .0001 and can perform both turning and milling in a single operation.

Principal responsibilities

The primary function of a Swiss Screw Machinist is ability to set up and operate our Star lathes on easy to moderately difficult level jobs. Light programming and sharpening of your own tooling is highly desired.

Job Description

  • Read drawings and routinely machine parts to tolerances of +/- .001.
  • Use a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to inspect work such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages and microscopes.
  • Be able to read programs in order to set up jobs on Swiss Screw machines to complete parts according to customer drawings.
  • Load material, operate machines & monitor jobs during the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and perform machine/program offsets and other minor troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Deburr, clean & finish parts as required.
  • Determine when tooling needs sharpening or replacement, ability to grind/sharpen or replace tooling as needed, unaided.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Perform documented inspection procedures to verify completion and accuracy of manufactured parts
  • Familiarity with ISO13485, AS9100, or ISO9001 documenting procedures is helpful.

This is a F/T position, working 40 hrs/wk in Hayden, ID. Crosswind Machining offers a generous benefits package including 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, for the employee.
