Position: Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician

We are an established Aesthetic Medicine Practice in Mill Valley, serving the Bay Area since 2005. We are seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician to join our busy, boutique practice. This role involves performing medical procedures and assisting in the coordination of services for our patients. The successful candidate will prioritize patient needs while working within our policies to ensure high-quality care at every touchpoint.

This is a part-time position (up to 32 hours per week, flexible schedule over a 5-day workweek) with the possibility of full-time (up to 40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver thorough patient care and education with integrity and confidence.
  • Provide hands-on care during procedures, including assisting with potentially uncomfortable treatments.
  • Build strong relationships with patients and support staff through superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction and retention through follow-up and exceptional service.
  • Manage patient flow and scheduling efficiently.
  • Maintain medical supplies, inventory, and equipment.
  • Follow strict standardized and respiratory precautions, including in-office COVID protocols.
  • Occasionally provide front desk support as needed.
  • Support medical staff during procedures and administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and patient experience initiatives.

Objectives:

  • Create a seamless, high-quality patient experience by supporting all medical providers.
  • Educate patients on pre-treatment, treatment expectations, and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) and Back-Office Reference materials.
  • Participate as a collaborative team member to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical setting.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word and comfortable entering data into software programs.
  • Knowledge of medical aesthetic treatments is a plus.
  • Energetic, warm, and professional demeanor with passion for non-surgical techniques and high-end patient care.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible work hours within general office schedule: 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Hands-on assessment and interview process including technical skills, organizational abilities, and MS Word competency.
  • Candidates must provide three professional references.
  • Employment contingent upon background check, I-9 verification, TB testing, and Hep B immunization (or waiver).
