Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized therapy plans for patients across different age groups, especially pediatrics and school-aged children.
- Support therapy sessions by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and engaging with patients to encourage participation.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy activities and document observations accurately for review by supervising clinicians.
- Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and medical staff to ensure consistency in therapy goals and strategies, particularly within early intervention and school environments.
- Help facilitate assessments related to speech, language, and communication skills by collecting data under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized therapy environment while adhering to safety protocols in acute care or school settings.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to optimize individualized education programs (IEPs) and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric development, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology enhances your ability to support therapy effectively.
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, early intervention programs, and IEP processes is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach to working with diverse populations in pediatrics or school environments.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude during therapy sessions.
- Basic understanding of anatomy related to speech mechanisms and physiology supports effective assistance in therapy activities.
