Unarmed Security Officer - Wildland Fire Support $23-$28/hr

Compass Security is a small private security business located in Portland, OR. We are currently hiring temporary/seasonal security officers to be ready to deploy to wildland fire sites needing security.

JOB TYPE: Full-time (temporary/seasonal)

SALARY: $23.00 to $28.00 /hour plus overtime

SCHEDULE: 12-hour shift Day shift Night shift Weekend availability

Compass Security is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team during wildland fire season in Oregon. Our Unarmed Security Officers must be drug free, reliable, professional, and willing to work long hours and work/live in a fire base camp for at least 2 weeks at a time.

No security experience is necessary. We provide free DPSST security training as well as on the job training. (Firefighting is not involved.)

Security Officers can expect to work 12-hour shifts on average for up to two weeks in a row, or as necessary based on fire conditions. A Security Officer may earn up to $2,500 - $3,000 per week with guaranteed overtime as fire conditions require. Guaranteed regular pay increases and additional bonus potential for officers that work multiple fire assignments.

Additional pay is available for security officers with clean driving records, fireline training, and/or EMT certification.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Monitor and secure road closures and restricted areas
• Conduct foot patrols in base camps and other designated zones
• Enforce site access protocols and ensure only authorized personnel are present
• Provide a visible security presence to deter unauthorized access or activity

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent communication skills
• Committed, reliable work ethic
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (preferred but not required)
• Ability to withstand prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Physical fitness to perform the duties of the position
