Instructional Designer II

Job Overview:

Nexiya is seeking an Instructional Designer to support a Utilities client in developing engaging learning & training solutions that improve employee performance across the organization. This role partners with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to manage instructional design projects from concept through implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage instructional design and performance support projects from initiation through completion.
  • Partner with clients, business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructional designers to define project goals and learning objectives.
  • Develop project plans, establish timelines, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.
  • Provide guidance and work direction to project team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design instructor-led, technical, management development, and computer-based training programs.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create engaging learning experiences.
  • Recommend instructional strategies, learning technologies, and delivery methods to improve organizational performance.
  • Develop learning materials that support content analysis, instructional strategies, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Research industry trends and best practices in instructional design and performance improvement.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of strong instructional design experience, ideally in large corporate environments across multiple departments.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills with a proactive approach to follow-up for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
