About Us

Exciting things are happening at the Argo Mill and Tunnel Site. The Mighty Argo Cable Car is under construction and will be opening in late ’25 or early ’26. The Mill and Tunnel operation will be working hand in hand with this major new experience and there will be opportunities to co-promote and collaborate on many levels. This position will report to ownership.

Position Overview

The Argo Mill and Tunnel is hiring a CDL Class C Driver / Groundskeeper. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of visitors and employees to and from the Argo Tunnel, driving our shuttle van. This position requires a CDL Class C license with a Passenger endorsement and a valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s certification. This position also includes groundskeeping duties in addition to driving duties, ensuring the Mighty Argo continues to be the inspiring tourist destination it is today.

Compensation: $20 - $32 / hour (non-exempt)

  • Pay commensurate with experience

Pay frequency: Bi-weekly

Schedule:

  • Must be able to work weekends.

Key Responsibilities: Commercial Driver and Groundskeeper:

Commercial Driver

  • Safe Driving: Ensure the safety of all passengers through a strong commitment to safe driving practices, including defensive driving techniques, adherence to traffic laws, and maintaining a clean driving record. This includes handling the vehicle in various road and weather conditions.
  • Vehicle Inspection and Condition: Conduct thorough pre-and post-trip inspections of the vehicle daily to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain a clean and well-organized bus to ensure a pleasant and safe environment for passengers.
  • Customer Service: Provide a customer-centric experience by interacting with visitors professionally and courteously, ensuring positive customer relationships.
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist passengers with safe boarding and off-boarding, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, including hours of service, weight restrictions, and vehicle maintenance requirements, to ensure legal compliance.
  • Vehicle Operation: Demonstrate proficiency in operating and maneuvering Class C commercial vehicles, including preparing vehicles for use, performing inspections, and refueling.
  • Maintain Logs: Maintain accurate logs and records of inspections, maintenance, and other required documentation as per legal and company policies.
  • Emergency Response: Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures for accidents, breakdowns, and other critical situations to ensure the safety of all passengers.
  • Maintenance: Utilize basic mechanical skills to address minor maintenance issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Think critically and make decisions under pressure to handle unexpected challenges on the road effectively. Drivers must make quick decisions regarding route changes, safety concerns, and customer interactions.

Groundskeeping

  • Landscaping Maintenance: Perform general landscaping maintenance including weeding, trimming, raking, and watering plants.
  • Maintain General Appearance: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our outdoor spaces including parking lots and pathways.
  • Safety: Ensure safety and accessibility by removing debris, snow, and ice from public area such as pathways, stairs, and entrances.
  • Inspect Grounds: Inspect and maintain signage, benches, lighting, fences, and outdoor displays for safety and appearance.
  • General Maintenance and Repair: Perform basic repair and maintenance as needed including emptying trash containers.

What You’ll Need

  • CDL Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Valid CDL Class C License with a Passenger Endorsement required. This license must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • A current and valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate. This certificate must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Minimum of two years of verifiable driving experience as noted through a driving record check.
  • Knowledge of groundskeeping duties as noted above.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (we do not offer employment-based sponsorships).
  • Must have the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check, MVR verification, and passing a drug screen (we do not screen for marijuana).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
