Job Posting: Executive Chef

Hell’s Kitchen | Downtown Minneapolis | Employee Owned

$80,000–$100,000 + Employee Ownership

Hell’s Kitchen isn’t just another restaurant—it’s one of Minneapolis’ most iconic dining destinations. For almost 25 years, we’ve built a reputation for award-winning, from-scratch food, legendary hospitality, and an independent spirit that refuses to follow industry norms. Today, as a 100% employee-owned company, we’re looking for an Executive Chef who wants more than a job. We’re looking for someone who wants a seat at the table and a hand in shaping the future.

The Opportunity

As Executive Chef, you’ll lead the culinary vision, culture, and performance of our high-volume kitchen operation. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the dishes that made Hell’s Kitchen famous while driving innovation, developing future leaders, and ensuring the business remains healthy and profitable.

This is a leadership role for someone who understands that great food, strong teams, and smart business decisions all go hand in hand.

What You'll Lead

  • A talented team of chefs, kitchen managers, and culinary leaders
  • A high-volume, from-scratch kitchen known for consistency and quality
  • Menu development, culinary innovation, and recipe execution
  • Food cost, labor cost, inventory, and operational performance
  • Health and safety compliance
  • A culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Who You Are

You’re a proven culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to bring out the best in people. You balance creativity with operational discipline and understand that the best menus are both exciting for guests and executable for the team.

You likely have:

  • Significant experience leading high-volume, scratch kitchens
  • Strong financial and operational management skills
  • A passion for coaching and developing future leaders
  • A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
  • The ability to remain calm, focused, and solutions-oriented under pressure

Most importantly, you embody our core values:Service. Excellence. Ownership. Grit. These aren’t posters on a wall—they guide how we hire, lead, and succeed together.

Why Hell’s Kitchen?

Because ownership changes everything. And we think, and perform, like we own the place, because we do.

After eligibility requirements are met, team members can participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), allowing you to build real equity and share in the success you help create. Unlike traditional restaurant models, the value generated here stays with the people doing the work.

We also offer:

  • Employee Ownership (ESOP)
  • Flexible health coverage, plus dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • The autonomy and resources to build a successful & sustainable operation (we value quality hours over quantity)
  • A team that genuinely supports one another and takes pride in what we create

About Us

Hell’s Kitchen is an independent, employee-owned Minneapolis institution known for its all-day breakfast, award-winning brunch, handcrafted cocktails, live music, and a fiercely loyal following. We’ve spent decades proving that exceptional food and genuine hospitality never go out of style. Now we’re looking for the next culinary leader to help write the next chapter.

If you’re ready to lead, create, mentor, and build something that’s truly yours, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today.
