Savory Gourmet is a family owned and operated Specialty Foods company, acting as an importer and distributor of Specialty Foods in Southern California. We have partnered with Plantin, a family owned leading French Truffles company that has been in business since the 1930’s. We are looking for a Sales Representative/Brand Ambassador to represent their brand and develop sales through the Savory Gourmet network.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and smart full-time sales representative to help manage new and existing accounts in Southern California . This would be a field position (traveling around Los Angeles/Orange County/San Diego and Santa Barbara primarily area, where you get to go into restaurants, talk to chefs, and meet new people everyday... and of course, sell some beautiful fresh truffles!!
Must have a passion for food. Must have some work experience, food preferred. This is a great position for chefs looking to get out of the kitchen. We would love a motivated individual with a "hustle" attitude!
JOB DESCRIPTION
Savory Gourmet is a very well established company in the restaurant industry in SoCal. We are seeking a smart and resourceful sales representative to help launch and develop our truffle program with Plantin. When hiring the perfect fit, we are looking for someone with a genuine positive attitude, a go-getter who is excited, and can spread that excitement and passion to everyone he/she meets! This individual will be responsible for representing the brand, attaining and managing new/current clients, and closing sales opportunities. It's a very fun opportunity to meet top chefs and see the inner world of the food service/ restaurant industry! This is a full time position.
This job will typically be M-F (sometimes weekends, depending on client needs).
** PLEASE NOTE: We will be conducting first round interviews and our partner in France will also interview the candidate, via Skype most likely.
QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- MUST LIVE IN LOS ANGELES! Or nearby, as you will be traveling to OC/SD/SB at times
- Car required ( we will pay for gas, tolls, etc)
- Enthusiastic individual with a hard work ethic
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong persuasive skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work under pressure and able to problem solve
- Ability to adapt as the food industry is a constant changing environment
- Work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Results oriented
- Be familiar with the food scene in SoCal/surrounding areas
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Build relationships with key decision makers; acts as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned accounts
- Ensure quality standards within assigned geographic area
- Savvy traveler throughout LA/surrounding area, when visiting each account
- Cold call/visit new account opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent field experience (food experience preferred). Must be a people-person.
