About Alexis
Alexis J Taylor is a global leader in people and sustainability, specializing in economic mobility, human capital and corporate governance. She drives corporate strategy at Indeed, addressing emerging ESG risks and opportunities and aligning the business with evolving sustainability standards like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). As part of Business for Social Responsibility’s Future of Reporting initiative, Alexis helps shape sustainability reporting.
The Aspen Institute recently named Alexis an inaugural Economic Mobility Fellow for her work helping to shorten job search durations for millions of Indeed users. She now focuses on projects that connect job seekers, especially those in low-wage cycles, to stable roles with upward mobility.
Previously, Alexis spent 12 years advancing social impact in the civil society sector. She co-founded a business ethics division, scaled an international nonprofit as CEO and led the Davos Lab, creating the first grassroots youth-led recovery plan for intergenerational justice. As a Commissioner for Sustainability and Economic Prosperity in Austin, she tackled local challenges while advising governments, foundations and universities globally.
Her work — recognized by the Mayor of Austin, the U.S. State Department and international organizations — has impacted 30+ countries, equipped 16,000 youth with future-ready skills and engaged over two million people in post-pandemic policy innovation.
Born in the heartland of the United States, Independence, Mo., Alexis currently resides in Austin, Texas. She holds a B.S. from Creighton University and graduated from Wharton’s Executive ESG Strategy Program.
Though she tried her hand at starting a neighborhood dog food business in middle school, her first real job was interning at an insurance company the summer after high school graduation. Today, she speaks on sustainability, systems thinking, and the future of capitalism, finding joy and energy in connecting with people globally and shaping what could be together.
