Indeed is being acquired by Recruit, a leading HR services and consumer internet firm based in Japan. Indeed will continue to be led by its current management team and operate as an independent subsidiary of Recruit. Here's our press release.

Recruit is one of the biggest private companies in Japan, with 22,000 employees and $10 billion in annual revenue. By acquiring Indeed, Recruit gains the No. 1 job site worldwide and an unrivaled job search and recruitment technology platform, while Indeed will benefit from Recruit’s resources and leadership position in Asia. This partnership is an excellent outcome for our employees and shareholders and will benefit job seekers and employers as we continue to grow and improve our services.

We launched Indeed in 2004 as the first comprehensive search engine for jobs. Since then, thanks to our millions of job seekers, tens of thousands of advertisers and partners, and the dedication of our 550 employees, more people now find jobs on Indeed than anywhere else, and companies find more hires on Indeed than anywhere else.

Indeed is the No. 1 job site worldwide:

  • 80m unique visitors per month
  • More than one million new resumes added each month
  • No. 1 in mobile job search
  • No. 1 pay-per-click recruitment ad network, with over 25,000 advertisers
  • No. 1 in employer reviews, with over one million reviews
  • No. 1 external source of hire in the U.S., according to iCIMS study

We have the same goal now as when we started the company: to be the best place for people to find jobs, wherever they may be. We are inspired by the thousands of success stories shared by job seekers and excited to continue building our business for the long term in partnership with Recruit.
