About the Job

Our Concord R&D Trackers Team is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and development of advanced antenna tracking systems that enable reliable satellite communication for mission-critical applications.

In this role, you will take ownership of complex mechanical design tasks, apply deep engineering expertise to develop precision electromechanical assemblies, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure optimal system performance. Working closely with Mechanical, RF, Software, and Systems Engineers, you will contribute to the full product lifecycle—from concept through validation—in a dynamic R&D environment that advances next-generation satellite communication technologies.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Concord, California.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Analysis

  • Develop innovative system-level and detailed mechanical design concepts for complex precision assemblies.
  • Design and analyze electromechanical components using SolidWorks, PDM, and simulation tools to ensure reliability and manufacturability.
  • Apply advanced GD&T principles and tolerance analysis to achieve high-accuracy mechanical interfaces.
  • Perform FEA, CFD, FMEA, and engineering calculations to validate and optimize mechanical performance.

Testing, Validation & Documentation

  • Plan and execute validation testing on mechanical components and assemblies to verify design integrity.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation packages, including detailed drawings and BOMs, meeting internal and external quality standards.
  • Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements in collaboration with the broader engineering team.

Technical Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate actively in design reviews and provide expert input on mechanical design intent, analysis, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate mechanical solutions within complex systems.
  • Support company Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements and contribute to process and design improvements across the R&D organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Typically, 5+ years of mechanical design experience in electromechanical or precision systems development.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, or comparable 3D CAD software applications.
  • Strong experience with GD&T, FEA, CFD, and engineering standards.
  • Demonstrated system-level design thinking with the ability to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven success working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) in accordance with U.S. Export Control regulations; U.S. Citizen preferred.
  • Willing and able to work 100% on-site in Concord, CA.

The Salary Range for this Full-time position is ($120,000–$140,000) based on a 40-hour work week.
