Full job description
Sound Decisions is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Caregivers to support youth in our residential treatment program. This role involves 24-hour supervision, life skills training, and maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily supervision to residents
- Behavioral Training
- Implement life skills and therapeutic activities
- Support personal hygiene, meal prep, and medication administration
- Accurately document resident behavior, incidents, and logs
- Collaborate with professional staff on treatment goals
- Transport residents to appointments and outings
- Ensure facility safety, conduct routine checks, fire drills, and incident reporting
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Texas driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Proof of current auto insurance (if transporting residents)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and TB test
- Certification in Emergency Behavior Intervention or Crisis Prevention (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Strong communication, observation, and teamwork skills
