I live in a busy area (DFW) so the rides are very consistent and my hourly wage averages out to about $20-$22/hr before gas driving for Uber X. If you don't mind driving, this job isn't too bad and is extremely flexible.

Very easy and fun way to meet new people and make money. It’s very flexible in where you can pick and choose your own schedule. It also helps you learn and navigate around the city better.

Driving for Uber is a pleasure. Being able to set your own schedule and choose the area you wish to drive in is definitely a plus. The only drawback is that taxes are not withdrawn from pay and one must be disciplined to save ahead for taxes.
