Haviland Enterprises, Inc., a 100% Employee Owned, industrial chemical, plastics and pool and spa chemical manufacturing and distribution company, specializing in creative chemistry seeks (1) Packager in our Grand Rapids, MI facility. This position reports to the Powders Supervisor. We are looking for an independent, reliable, self-motivated, self-starter, with a positive attitude, team approach, with an "Owner" and process improvement mentality. If that is you, apply today! Schedule: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am, with occasional overtime on Fridays

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hi-lo experience a plus.
  • Automated filling equipment experience a plus.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions, and complete necessary documentation. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook.
  • Enjoy and embrace a diverse/variety of job duties and a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Motivation of a self-starter.
  • Ability to remain detail-oriented while learning, training, cross-training, and backing up roles.
  • Must have excellent attendance record.
  • Attention to detail, quick learner and dependable required.
  • Comfortable working with and near chemicals.
  • Comfortable conforming to high safety and quality standards, requirements, and responsibilities.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper labeling, capping, heat sealing, coding, and packaging of products while maintaining quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Program assembly lines for different packaging sizes.
  • Change over and set up.
  • Equipment washouts.
  • Start-up and test-run machines as well as perform operational maintenance procedures as directed.
  • Assist in material handling if license is obtained.
  • Complete standard work.
  • Perform quality control checks.
