Indeed’s New AI Hiring Solutions: First Reactions

By Indeed Editorial Team
HR and TA leaders share their candid feedback on Indeed Talent Scout, Indeed Career Scout, Premium Sponsored Jobs and Indeed Connect.

Key Takeaways

  • Indeed Talent Scout is an AI-powered hiring agent that will help employers make hires more quickly and efficiently, via a conversational interface. Some FutureWorks attendees connected their Indeed accounts to Talent Scout on the spot to test it out.
  • Attendees agreed that Indeed’s AI-powered suite of solutions will save them time, enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Some said Indeed Connect will make Talent Scout “that much more beneficial,” potentially reducing friction with employers’ existing ATS.

It’s one thing to see a pre-taped demo on a jumbo screen at a conference. It’s another to be able to sit down and connect the product to your own system, seeing firsthand and in real time exactly what that platform can do for your company.

That’s the experience some attendees had at Indeed FutureWorks 2025 in New Orleans, where they were able to interact with Indeed Talent Scout, Indeed’s AI-powered hiring agent designed to transform how employers engage, find and hire the right talent. It gives employers real-time proactive insights and recommendations to boost job-post performance, and helps find the ideal candidate via an intuitive conversational interface. It also features capabilities that allow employers to source candidates for their jobs on Indeed or from within their ATS if they are using Workday through a Chrome browser extension, Workable or isolved.

“Seeing it in action, I was very excited,” said Nneka Ladday, Senior Director of Human Resources at Pilot Thomas, who was able to add Talent Scout to her Indeed account on the spot. “I immediately realized, with my small team, that using Talent Scout will be like hiring two or three additional recruiters.”

Talent Scout gives employers the ability to ask questions in natural language to get real-time, proactive insights about their jobs, and it helps boost the performance of jobs on Indeed via improvements to title, location, description, benefits and pay.

Attendees at Indeed FutureWorks who engaged in a hands-on demonstration of Talent Scout had a lot to say about the AI-powered hiring agent, as well as its job seeker counterpart, Indeed Career Scout, and Indeed’s other new hiring solutions, Indeed Connect and Premium Sponsored Jobs.

What surprised you most about Talent Scout?

From time savings to data optimization, attendees agreed: Talent Scout is going to make their jobs much easier — and enable them to focus on what really matters.

For Sandy Arriola, Recruiting Manager at Amerit Fleet Solutions, the new AI-powered hiring agent is a clear time-saver. “Talent Scout was able to source and fly through resumes, and then present the best ones, rather than us having to go through everything,” she said.

Amanda Buffington, co-founder of Hope Leigh Marketing, was excited to have everything in one place: “Previously, you had to have two screens open and have your insights over here, and your jobs and your Smart Sourcing over on a different screen. But now you can embed Indeed’s insights into the actual search.”

People also saw optimization as a key benefit. What’s working? What’s not? Talent Scout can help surface those insights, said Tannaz Bakhshi, Senior Talent Acquisition Manager at OSL: “Data to see if my postings are doing well; I could also see how to optimize my job postings so they attract more high-quality applicants.”

Indeed's product booths were separated into three themes: speed, efficiency, and quality, featuring product solutions ilke Indeed Talent Scout to tackle each employer pain point.

How would you or your team use Talent Scout?

Employers are looking forward to sending personalized messages. As Mayra Murphy, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at McCain Foods, put it, “One of the coolest things was like, ‘Help me write a message to John Smith, and make sure you call out their experience at ABC Company.’ Being able to quickly give it a few prompts was super awesome.”

That’s not the only way attendees were looking forward to getting time back. “Because we are a small team, we don’t always have the time to narrow down a list of top candidates,” Ladday said. “But Talent Scout can show me the top 20 candidates instantly, which will save me three days of work.”

What other Indeed solutions did you engage with?

Attendees saw real value in what Career Scout could do to help candidates who might not think to tailor their resumes. “Career Scout helps them show up better,” said Matt Rothman, Talent Acquisition Manager at Hannaford Supermarkets. “That makes my life much easier if they’re showcasing what they’re interested in, what they care about.”

Here’s an overview of how Indeed Career Scout acts as a personalized career coach for job seekers.

Ultimately, this suite of new products — Career Scout, Talent Scout, Premium Sponsored Jobs and Indeed Connect — is better together, particularly when it comes to ATS integration.

Currently, recruiters might be working with a range of separate tools, but using Indeed Connect to integrate an ATS will make “everything fall into one place,” Murphy said. “Just being able to have that full suite of the sourcing, and then the Premium Sponsored Jobs, is going to be key for our team,” she said.

As Rothman put it, “Indeed Connect is huge from an integration perspective. It will make Talent Scout that much more beneficial. I have 189 unique stores. If we could get integrated, it’ll reduce a lot of the friction in our existing ATS.”
