Challenging and developmental position
Executive Team Leader (Current Employee) – Springfield, VA – May 3, 2015
As an Executive Team Leader at Target, your day is full of movement, decision making and adapting to any obstacles. You are a leader in the building and give direction to the team with the ultimate goal of driving sales and prioritizing based on the needs of the store for that day.
I have learned a lot from this position including how to have difficult conversations and deliver feedback to peers, team members or other executives and also how to plan and prioritize tasks. Target hires outgoing, driven people and I enjoyed most of my co-workers; in this position, teamwork is required or else the whole team will fail.
The schedule can be difficult to adjust to; ETLs work every other weekend and have 1 week day off each week so it can be difficult to adjust to but after you do, it becomes routine.
I enjoy the collaboration and strategizing that comes along with this job. No day is the same and there are always obstacles but the fun part is the challenge that this presents. Being able to see your work drive sales in the store is very rewarding.
