How we hire at Indeed
As a candidate, you’re experiencing one of our core values in action: Job Seeker First. Our mission to help people get jobs starts with your interview experience. We design our process to be transparent, supportive, and fair—so you feel prepared, respected, and empowered to show your best self.
We spend every day helping people navigate job searches, so we approach our own hiring with that same lens. Throughout your journey, you’ll learn about our purpose, our people, and how you can thrive at Indeed. Your experience matters as much as your skills, and we’re committed to inclusion, open communication, and treating every candidate with care.
Our commitment to inclusion and belonging
At Indeed, inclusion and belonging are part of our mission to help people get jobs. We value what makes each candidate unique and strive to create a consistent workplace where everyone has the opportunity to showcase their strengths and potential.
We recognize that talent comes from many different paths and welcome expertise gained through a variety of experiences. We’re interested in understanding how your distinct perspective and background can contribute to our team.
We provide reasonable accommodations throughout the process to ensure accessibility, and our hiring approach reflects our dedication to thoughtful decision-making and building strong, mission-aligned teams.

Prepare
Exploring a career at Indeed? Your Indeed profile is the first step to getting noticed by our recruiters. When you build a complete profile with your skills, experience, and expertise, it is easier for our talent team to find and match you with opportunities that fit your background.
Why skills matter
Our recruiters search for candidates based on specific capabilities. The more skills you add, both technical skills relevant to your field and soft skills like collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability, the more likely we are to discover your profile when new roles open.
Your profile is your introduction to Indeed. Keep it current, be specific about what you bring to the table, and enable “Employers can find you” so our team can search your profile and reach out when there’s a match.

We aim to review applications within 7–14 business days.
Accommodations
If you need an accommodation at any stage of the hiring process, please visit our accommodations page or contact your recruiter. We’re committed to creating an accessible and inclusive experience for all candidates.
Interviews and assessments
Interviews are an opportunity to showcase your strengths and potential. It’s natural for some moments to shine more than others, and that’s okay—the big picture is what counts. Your overall performance across all conversations is what truly matters.
Our standard interview process is virtual, though some interviews may take place in person depending on the role or location. You’ll receive all logistical details ahead of time so you know exactly what to expect.
Recruiter conversation
You’ll meet with a recruiter to review the opportunity, our benefits and culture, and to learn more about us. This is also your time to ask questions about our mission, team, or the role.
The remaining interview steps and timeline may vary depending on role and level. After each stage, your recruiter will let you know the next steps or when we anticipate a decision. While we aim to keep the interview process moving along efficiently, full hiring decisions (for roles with multiple interview rounds) may span several weeks.
Hiring manager interview
Meet with the hiring manager to discuss your skills, experiences, and motivations in more detail. We want to understand how your strengths align with the role.
Panel interview
You’ll meet with additional team members and key collaborators, either in individual conversations or group discussions. We encourage you to prepare by reviewing the role description closely and thinking about how your skills and experience align with the team’s goals.
Expect questions about collaboration, problem-solving, and your approach to teamwork. For client-facing roles, interviews may include a mock call, or case study, and presentation. For technical roles, you may complete an assessment or whiteboard exercise as part of the evaluation process.
We also welcome your thoughtful questions. They help ensure there’s a great mutual fit and give a sense of how you can add to our culture.
Final conversation
In some cases, you’ll meet with a senior leader to learn more about how your role contributes to our mission to help people get jobs.
Decision and offer
Outcome
At Indeed, we value timeliness and transparency. Once a decision has been made, your recruiter or the Talent Acquisition team will reach out to share the outcome.
Onboard
After you accept your offer, your preboarding journey begins. You’ll reconfirm your start date, complete a background check, and receive a welcome kit and laptop to prepare for day one. About a week before your start date, we’ll email you all the details you’ll need for your first day.
On day one, you’ll take part in orientation, setting up your MacBook, meeting fellow new hires, and learning more about life at Indeed. From there, onboarding continues with sessions and introductions tailored to your team and region, designed to help you integrate and be ready to make an impact.
