Summary:Responsible for sourcing well qualified SBA 7(a) and 504 loan opportunities and deposit relationships in Florida and Texas through internal and external calling efforts. JOB Functions:

• Focus on the origination and submission of SBA loan requests and deposit relationships through internal and external sources in accordance with Bank and SBA guidelines.
• Organized prospecting and networking both internally and externally. Establish strong referral network and relationships with commercial real estate brokers, business brokers, loan brokers, CPAs, accountants, lawyers, etc. to solicit new SBA loan opportunities.
• Participate in local trade and business/professional associations to increase market awareness of the Bank s SBA loan programs.
• Provide training to banking center partners and lenders - participate in joint client calls.
• Stay informed of all SOP 5010(H) eligibility guidelines. Verifying/Insuring SBA eligibility. Become a front-end resource to all referral sources in the markets served.
• Gather loan documentation including business and personal financials, submits file to credit and work with clients and team members throughout the application and closing process.
• Obtain and submit complete financial packages. Structure appropriate loan based on client s needs. Meet personally on-site with guarantors/borrowers before submission.
• Pre-screen/qualify or dis-qualify new loan requests. Develop an understanding of the credit risk and be able to properly evaluate and disclose risk in a relationship.
• Review and analyze financial statements. Complete upfront basic cash flow and collateral analysis; assist the credit analysis with the underwriting process.
• Present loans to senior credit officers and/or loan committees.
• Work with client, SBA Loan Administrator, credit and other areas of Bank to close and service loans.

Position Requirements AND KEY Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field, or equivalent college degree preferred.
• In depth knowledge of SBA 7(a) and 504 loan program guidelines / SOP.
• Knowledgeable in SBA underwriting, general closing legal/documentation guidelines, financial institution operating policies and procedures, and state and federal banking regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: *

• Contacting referrals (prospects and/or applicants) within set timeframes as prescribed by New Tracker.
• Advising customer of application status and action necessary to achieve desired objective.
• Interacting with customers via telephone, email, or in person in a professional manner, on an as needed basis.
• Provide outstanding professional customer service and creating strong client relationships.
• Updating of Referral System with pertinent customer information.
• Assembling all documents essential to loan processing and closing (SBA Forms, Credit Release, Financial Data and other pertinent documentation) for SBA, A/R, and Conventional Lending Programs.
• Maintain strong knowledge base of Newtek Loan Policies as they relate to SBA Loan Programs, Secured Line of Credit Lending Program and the Non-Conforming/Conventional Loan Program in order to provide applicants with program features, benefits and process.
• Preparation of Pre-Qualification Letters, Loan Overview Memos, and basic credit analysis for SVP and President
• Representing Newtek at industry conferences, gatherings, and functions as deemed appropriate by SVP and President.
• Other duties as needed and assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
• Basic computer and phone skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail, follow up, and problem solving.
• Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Self-motivating and great team work attitude.
• Ability to quickly learn about company products or services.
• Some commercial or residential lending support experience preferred.
• Ability to multi task and work with several applications simultaneously.

The Business Development/Branch Operations Specialist will be responsible for the promotion of credit union products and services to members by leading webinars and monthly virtual events, by telephone, in-branch, or while representing the credit union at various community and sponsor events. Must feel comfortable hosting virtual meetings and leading webinars for large groups. This position requires qualified candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of previous member service experience with a Credit Union or bank, and the ability to resolve routine member inquiries. The candidate requires the ability to travel locally, and non-locally, up to 50% of the time, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation available for use in accomplishing job requirements.
