Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Strategy Officer to lead our organization's strategic planning and business development efforts. Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive strategic business plans aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Identify key opportunities for growth and innovation in healthcare service delivery. Engage with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, community leaders, government leaders, and partner organizations, to build relationships and garner support for organizational initiatives.
• Business Development: Lead efforts to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, collaborations, and alliances with healthcare providers, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Negotiate agreements and contracts to support the expansion of programs and services.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for growth and differentiation. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
• Revenue Generation: In partnership with agency leadership, develop and execute strategies to diversify revenue streams; secure funding from grants, donors, and other sources; drive fundraising initiatives and cultivate relationships with philanthropic partners.
• Program Development: Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop, and launch new programs and initiatives that address unmet healthcare needs and advance the organization's mission.
• Performance Monitoring: Collaborate with internal teams to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor progress towards strategic objectives. Analyze performance data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and best practices in healthcare business development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years experience working with internal and external leadership in the non-profit or government arena.
• Proven track record of success in strategic planning, business development, and revenue generation within the healthcare sector, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends, healthcare delivery models, and healthcare policy landscape, including experience in NYS.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive results.
• Demonstrated experience in developing budgets, financial analysis, and grant writing.

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) plays a critical role on the CVHN leadership team. Under the direction of the CEO, the Chief Strategy Officer will operate as a thought partner in planning and operationalizing organizational goals. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of key strategic initiatives, including internal organizational initiatives, as well as external policy and/or market-based objectives. The position will support the organization in forming strategy, then focus on plans to implement the strategy. The Chief Strategy Officer will work with colleagues across the organization(s) to identify specific programmatic roles and responsibilities to implement organizational strategies. Job Qualifications/Competencies

The CSO of CVHN should have a proven track record of progressively responsible experience in organizational management and relationship building and experience managing a community health center consortium (or related) organization.

• Experience working closely with community health centers on various issues including policy related to managed care, behavioral health, HRSA grants, 1115 Waiver, and other critical health center issues.

• Master s degree in related field (Community Health, Public Health, Health Administration).
• At least 10 years comparable experience and a bachelor s degree may be substituted for a master s degree.

Position Summary:

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) serve as a critical executive management team member. The CSO will oversee a portfolio that includes: 1) strategic planning; strategic partnerships; and special projects. In collaboration with the SSFC leadership team, the CSO will articulate and implement a strategic vision for the agency that focuses on effective growth; oversee implementation of the strategic plan in close coordination with SSFC s strategic planning board committee, build new partnerships to grow and sustain the organization, manage special pilot projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Provide support under the direction of the CEO to external organizations, committees, & boards such as the Board of Directors and other committees of SSFC to represent SSFC.

Work in collaboration with the CEO to develop relationships and partnerships in Forsyth County and potential new regions.

Manage the reporting of grants and special projects, e.g., Winston Salem Foundation, etc.

Expand SSFC's funding by applying for diverse funding opportunities to include public grants and Early Childhood Initiatives aligned with SSFC s strategic plan.

Oversee special pilot projects, including coordinating partners and managing staff when applicable to the project.

Develop a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward vision and goals by clearly communicating agency vision, implementing yearly staff development plans, and mentoring.

Participate in the budget development process and maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility.

Support fund development efforts by promoting and executing SSFC's year-end fundraising efforts, annual fundraising events, proposal writing, and partnering with the CEO and Director of Advancement and Community Education to steward funding relationships.

Play an active role in strengthening and maintaining the management and governance culture and practices that reflect the organization's core values, confidence, discipline, and professionalism.

Educational & Experiential Requirements:

Minimum: Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field. At least five years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, for-profit, government, or philanthropy, working on growth, business development, strategy, planning, or related issues.

Preferred: Master s Degree in Business Administration or related field, Project Management, Grant Writing Certifications.

Additional Skills & Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in successful grant writing for public and private funds.

Comprehensive working knowledge of organizational planning, organizational structure, budgeting, administrative operations, and fundraising.

At least three years of project management, grant writing and strategic planning preferred.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile complex data for planning purposes.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies.

Chief Strategy Officer

As a key member of the Network Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) works closely with the CEO, medical staff, organizational leaders, and the Board to develop and execute the organization s strategic plan and organizational initiatives. Qualifications for the Chief Strategy Officer: *

• Master s degree in business-related discipline required, preferably in healthcare administration or business.
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience with an employment record of increasing responsibilities in strategic planning and business development, preferably in a large multi-disciplinary hospital or system.
• Computer-proficiency with ability to develop complex business plans using data to drive strategy is essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
