Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all external regulatory and legal requirements (IFRA, EU, RIFM, CLP, FEMA, PROP 65, TSCA, DSL, GHS, REACH, and EPA) as well as internal policies.

- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to comply with applicable regulations.

- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance and manage regulatory risk.

- Act as the liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, handling inspections, audits, and other regulatory interactions.

- Maintain open communication with relevant decision-makers and stakeholders about regulatory changes.

Product Safety and Toxicology

- Conduct safety assessments for fragrance ingredients and finished products.

-Coordinate and interpret toxicological studies, including skin sensitization, irritation, and other relevant tests.

Risk Management:

- Identify and manage regulatory risks in collaboration with management and staff.

- Develop contingency plans to handle potential compliance breaches.

- Conduct root cause analysis of compliance incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Training and Development:

- Develop regulatory strategies for new products and markets, including product registrations, notifications, and submissions.

- Organize and conduct regular training sessions to communicate key regulatory changes and updates to employees.

- Provide guidance and support on regulatory matters to ensure employees understand and adhere to compliance requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare and manage regulatory documentation such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and Product Information Files (PIF).

- Maintain detailed documentation of compliance activities, including audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.

- Ensure compliance with labeling regulations, including allergen disclosure, ingredient lists, and warning statements

- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.

- Keep abreast of regulatory developments and update company policies accordingly.

Leadership:

- Lead the compliance efforts, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

- Work effectively with R&D, marketing, legal, and other departments to ensure regulatory compliance throughout product development and commercialization.

- Communicate with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders regarding compliance issues and regulatory updates.

- Promote ethical behavior and decision-making across the organization.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum requirement in Chemistry, Biology, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Advanced Degree (Preferred): Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (MS) in Regulatory Affairs, or Juris Doctor (JD).
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), ISO 13485 Lead Auditor Certification, and Certified Regulatory Affairs Professional (RAPS).

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the fragrance, cosmetics, or a related industry.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRA, EU, FEMA, PROP 65, TSCA, DSL, GHS, REACH, CLP (Classification, Labeling and Packaging) and EPA regulations.
• Proven track record in managing compliance programs and leading audits. (Trifoil, LISAM, and FormPak)
• Extensive experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and understanding of the regulatory environment specific to the fragrance industry.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Role:
Review credit union policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations applicable to the Credit Union. Recommend policy changes to senior management and/or the Board of Directors that will facilitate the Credit Union's compliance program, reduce risk, and reflect changes in regulations. Update and disseminate information regarding laws and regulations. Oversee risk management and internal audit programs for the Credit Union.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

-Analyzes new and pending laws which will affect the Credit Union's current operations, develops and periodically reviews and updates the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, notifies all affected parties of changes and the new procedures adopted.
-Develops and implements a compliance program to effectively review nominated areas of the the Credit Union for compliance.
-Administer Credit Union's internal audit and risk management programs.
-Coordinates projects that involve information disclosure and policy changes to inform staff of procedures that must be complied with.
-Credit Union's liaison to the Supervisory Committee; prepares and presents periodic reports to the Board of Directors concerning the Credit Union's current record of compliance.
-Chairs Compliance & Risk Committee.

Performance Measurements:
1. Develop, maintain, and demonstrate current knowledge of applicable State and Federal Laws and Industry Regulations to ensure the Credit Union's policies and procedures remain compliant and are adhered to in all areas.
2. Ensure departments and staff are informed of new or revised policies or regulations affecting their compliance within the required time frame as set down by management.
3. Develop and maintain a library of compliance resources to enable employees to educate themselves in relevant areas.
4. Prepare and deliver risk assessments, regulation reviews, and internal audits in a timely, accurate manner.
5. Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the credit union or any department.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, accurate manner.
7. Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to all members and associates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain company compliance policies in order to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and other banking laws and regulations Experience performing regulatory compliance reviews and managing communications with state and federal regulators. Familiar with credit union compliance and audit procedures. Direct experience with internal and external audit procedures and expectations. Must be able to prepare various risk assessments for the Supervisory Committee and Board of Directors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: 7 to ten years of similar or related experience with mortgage, BSA, and regulatory compliance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. However, we encourage applicants without college degrees to apply if they have extensive compliance, risk, and financial institution experience.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge: Experience with the fraud/BSA solution Verafin and Continuity risk management software preferred. Industry accreditation such as a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO), Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), or other qualified certification is highly preferred, but not required.
